Privacy & Cookie Policy
How we handle your data, the cookies we use, and your rights. This is the full policy for Seafood City Birmingham and everything on seafood-city.com.
Last updated: 15 July 2026
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Seafood City Birmingham, trading from Unit E202, 70 Hurst Street, Birmingham, B5 4TD. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), the data controller is SEAFOOD CITY AR LIMITED (registered in England and Wales, company number 15354815).
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at [email protected].
2. The information we collect
We collect personal data in a few limited ways:
- Bookings and enquiries. When you reserve a table or send an enquiry, we collect your name, contact details and booking preferences. Bookings and enquiries are handled through Stampede, our booking platform, which processes this data on our behalf.
- Newsletter and marketing. If you join our mailing list, we collect your email address to send offers, menu updates and event news. Marketing is handled via Stampede, which we use both on this site and for the Find Larry the Lobster prize draw. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- Analytics. Like most websites, we collect limited usage data through cookies and similar technologies (see section 4).
- The Find Larry the Lobster game. The game collects your name and email to run the prize draw and contact winners. Entering the draw also adds your email to our Seafood City marketing list, so we can send you offers (you can unsubscribe at any time). See section 5.
3. Why we can use your data, and how long we keep it
We rely on legitimate interests to run and improve the business, consent for marketing emails, and contract to fulfil a booking you have made. We keep personal data only as long as we need it:
- Bookings and enquiries: 36 months after your last visit, then deleted.
- Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe, after which we remove you from active marketing.
- Prize-draw entries: because entering adds you to our marketing list, we keep your email until you unsubscribe (as above). Winners' details are kept as long as we need them to award the prize and for our accounting records.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand how it is used.
5. The Find Larry the Lobster game
Our free online game runs at larry.seafood-city.com, a separate site to this one. When you enter, the game collects your name and email to run the quarterly prize draw and to contact winners. Entering the draw also adds your email to our Seafood City marketing list, so we can send you offers and news; you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. The game has its own short privacy notice, which links back to this policy for everything else.
The game and this site use a functional cookie so we can tell when you have already entered this round and avoid repeatedly showing you the promo. It carries no advertising or tracking data. The game's full terms are at larry.seafood-city.com/terms.
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the business, and only as far as they need it:
- Analytics and advertising providers, to measure and improve the site.
- Our booking and enquiry platform, to manage reservations and enquiries.
- Our email and marketing platform, to send newsletters and prize-draw communications.
- A third-party delivery platform, if you choose to order for delivery.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to how we use it.
- Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent to marketing at any time.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally to stay informed.
